Here in the east, despite the lack of deep powder and amenities, we've got some pretty awesome ski areas! Because all these ski areas/resorts unique and can be worlds apart, We create a guide to find the right ski area for you. This will be published annually.
Most Family Friendly Resort 2011 Mid Atlantic:Bryce Resort VA- Bryce is my favorite mid atlantic resort. It has great racing, a great ski school and its a crowdless beginner and intermediate skier's paradise. I have skied Bryce many Times and highly recommend taking a trip to Bryce! West Coast: Winter Park Colorado- There are always people helping you out and Winter Park has great family activities. Honorable Mentions: Appalachian, NC, Deer Valley, UT Best Mountain Views 2011: Mid-Atlantic:Massaanutten VA and Wintergreen VA- They both have stunning mountain views! Check out Mass at the top of diamond Jim! epicness. West Coast:Pretty much every single resort has WOW! views. Best Zipline Tour: Best Day Trip: East Coast- Liberty Mountain- Liberty is only 1 hour from the D.C. metro area and is a relatively unpainful drive (not many mountain passes). It has many amenities and 16 trails respectively which make an awesome day trip! West Coast: The Canyons, Park City, Deer Valley UT, Winter Park, CO | Best Four Season Resort/non-skiing activities: Mid-Atlantic:Wisp Resort, MD Wisp has to many activities to count and deep creek lake! Also there is some great terrain.There's Plenty of pow to shred during the winter. Best Racing Program: Bryce Resort-Bryce proves it doesn't take a lot of hill to have the best racing on the east coast. With its own racing ramp, race course, ski team and dedicated racers, Bryce is one of the world's best racing mountains. Best Snow Sports School: Mid-Atlantic-Bryce Resort- Bryce has many carpet lifts and beginner areas. The instructors are all amazing! You can learn to ski or snowboard in a great environment. I learned to snowboard and had GREAT instructors- Ryan and Tom which was really cool. They also have race coaches such as John E and a Ski/Snowboard team to show you the fast way to shred. West Coast- Winter Park, CO, Alpine Meadows, CA Off Trail Backcountry Skiing in Mid Atlantic- Even though there isn't much!- Blue Knob Most Epic Snow Tubing: Mid-Atlantic:Wintergreen has a HUGE tubing park.
